Join a series of three relaxed collage workshops this December at PLADS23 in Copenhagen.
We’ll work with everything from intuitive paper collage to spatial scenes and glittery Christmas cards.
No experience or specific age is required – only a desire to play with images, moods, and expressions.

About the Workshop Facilitator
Tobias Valentin is a Danish visual artist educated at the Art Academy in Bergen.
They work with photography, video, weaving, and performance – and use collage as a creative space for immersion and idea development without pressure or expectations.

Workshop 1: Intuitive Collage – Cut into the Moment
December 2, 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
We begin the series with a sensory and intuitive approach to collage – a playful exploration of form, color, and storytelling.
We start by cutting without plan or logic, seeing what emerges when we let go of control and allow our hands and intuition to take over. Later, we’ll make choices and begin to compose.
It’s all about the process and immersion – all levels are welcome, regardless of prior experience with collage or art.

Workshop 2: Collage in Layers – Build Your Own Little World
December 10, 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
We continue the collage journey by creating small universes and 3D collages.
Using fishing line, light and shadow, and small pedestals, we’ll assemble cutouts at various depths and build small scenic worlds in front of a background.
Finally, we’ll photograph our works to capture the layers of atmosphere and space we’ve created.
There will also be an opportunity to continue with flat, paper-based collages from the first workshop. Everyone is welcome.

Workshop 3: Christmas Cutouts & Collages with Glitter
December 16, 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Get into the Christmas spirit in your own creative way!
We’ll make personal Christmas collages, decorations, and cards – combining the classic and the quirky: glitter, cutouts, text, or something entirely different.
A cozy December evening filled with creativity and holiday cheer.
